Nails Inc Sprinkles Review

As you may know i love nail polish and so was just a little bit excited when i saw the new 'Sprinkles' collection from Nails Inc.

Described as - 'These brand new polishes deliver a unique Sprinkles effect using just one product. The glitter particles are mattified to give you the perfect amount of sparkle'.

I bought two of the four polishes -

* Sweets Way (Pale bluey lavender with blue, coral/pink and silver glitter suspended).*
&

*Topping Lane (Pale pink with deep pink, purple and silver glitter suspended)*.

The best part about these is that the glitter doesn't sink to the bottom, and each coat slightly mattifies the layer below, making it look just like, well, Sprinkles!

The photo is when I place a thin layer of dark pink glitter over Sweet's Way, which made it slightly more pink under-toned. I think you could use a lot of different glitters/basecoats with this making it very versatile - and also me, VERY excited!

Suits you Sir!

Spa Break Love

Two weeks ago my twin sister (Loula) and I went on an overnight Spa break at Titanic Spa in Huddersfield. Having never been to a Spa (ohhh the shame!) before, let alone on a Spa break I didn't really know what to expect. But oh my lordy I was NOT dissapointed.

The place is absolutly beautiful and I cannot recommend it enough. Whilst there I treated myself to a Declour massage, Elemis facial and a Zenspa pedicure which is by one of my faves polish brands Jessica. The facial was delicous and I definatly didn't fall to sleep in it - apart from maybe that 10 minutes in the middle!

Having never tried Elemis products before (admission no.2 of the day!) I was really impressed and a Body Cream somehow made it's way home with me. Two Jessica nail polishes may somehow slipped there way in there too - awfully strange how that happened!

Anyway i cannot recommend a Spa Break enough. I had the bestest most relaxing time in a truely beautiful place and i'm already letting Santa and his elves know i'd like to go back near christmas pleaseeee!

Have any of you been on a Spa break and did you love it as much as I did?

Spa break treats - The whole detox part didn't go so well!

Brown to Blonde Transition.

I've had brown hair for around 3 years now, prior to this I'd always been blonde.

I went brown purely for a change, I was thoroughly bored of my blonde locks (which had gone brassy and platinum after too many highlights). This was around 3 years ago now, and I've loved my brown hair, it's been so much healthier and easier, as I can dye it myself.

BUT....for around 6 months now I've been lusting (to the point of obsession) over people with blonde hair again. And so yesterday, I took the first plunge. This is a post I've been wishing someone had already wrote, as I wanted to know the stages it would entail, and what each one would look like, and that's why I'm writing this. And also just for anyone who's vaguely interested!

Yesterday I had a full head of blonde highlights put through my medium brown (with red fading out) hair (yes, it was really a shade of orange, but I prefer to call it a copper tone!).

This is the result. At the minute I really don't like it. It's stripy (think the lovely hair many on Jeremy Kyle sport!), and neither brown nor blonde (YUM!). On the bright side it only has to stay this way for 5 weeks, then I'm returning for another full head of highlights - hopefully making it blonde.

It's got that distinct strawy feel I remember from before already, but the bleach has defiantly made my hair expand. So I may be a zebra, but at least I'm not a balding one anymore!

I'm contemplating buying the new Kerastase Elixir Oil to help nourish and protect the zoo animal. Have any of you tried this?

What hair products would you recommend?

Mini Haul

After finishing Uni for this year I'm now back working, and it seems no longer buying Tesco basics (ohhhh how this will return in September) has led me to well, go a little crazy!

The first thing I bought was this watch from River Island. It's similar to the Micheal Kors one I've been lusting over (right hand image), but at £24.99 instead of £200 an awful lot cheaper!

Next I picked up these shoes in New Look. I also have these in nude too, as they are honestly so comfy, and you can get away with wearing small socks with them on a night out (your feet will love you forever!). They were £19.99, which saying I paid £18 for nearly the same pair in Primark (which coincidently broke and I took them back, but this is a story for another time!) I don't feel is too expensive.

With this month's advantage bonuses Boots so kindly sent me was a £2 Revlon voucher. I got a Lipbutter in Creme Brulee (£7.99) and a Colourburst Lipgloss in Shade Bellini (£7.99), a lovely Nudey Peach, as I'm going to do a lipstick/gloss post soon I haven't swatched them. Plus my lips are dire at the minute!

I picked up these two in New Look. I love the skull earrings which were £2.99 and the necklace was reduced form £7.99 to £3. Bargain!

I got this free sample of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish which I have been wanting to try FOREVER with a voucher from the paper. I'll let you know my feelings when I've given it a proper trial.

Restocked on Mac Studio Fix Fluid (£19.50) and Studio Finish Concealer (£13.50) both in shade NW20.

Have any of you got any exciting new products? Or tried any of my new ones?

Suits you sir!

Weekly Wishlist.

Too many pretty things! Appears I'm turning into a bit of make-up snob too (sob for the bank card!). The dress is for Loula's graduation, which should be a lovely day (n'awwww!)

Has anyone tried any of my wishlist products? If so what do you think?

Lipsmacking love for Lipsmackers!

I suffer with lips the river nile couldn't moistourise and so am always on the look out for a good lipbalm. Like many people i've snubbed the lipbalms on the till at primark, this was until i spotted they are petroleum free.

I bought the sprite flavour for £1. Still sceptical i tried it. This is the point where i had to well and truely eat my hat (and the box too!) as it is the best lipbalm i have ever tried, and I have prescriptive cream!

The colour is a sheer white and gives a subtle gloss.

(Excuse the lipstick round the edges - yum!)

Pro's*

  • Amazingly moisturising
  • Petroleum free
  • Range from £1 - £2 (depending if there on offer)
  • Nice and sheer

*Con's*

  • The taste could be better (because we all have a little try!)

Overall - 5/5

These are available in most primark stores and also on ebay - search for lipsmacker. I'm stocking up!
